Long-Term Residence for the Purpose of Investing
An amendment to Act No. 326/1999 Coll., on the Residence of Foreign Nationals in the Czech Republic, came into force on 15 August 2017, bringing forth the new residence title Long-Term Residence for the Purpose of Investing.
This involves a long-term residence permit for businesspeople – natural persons or, as the case may be, partners, members of statutory bodies and authorised representatives of commercial corporations that intend to implement significant investments in the Czech Republic. A significant investment is considered to be an investment in the case of which financial resources in the amount of at least CZK 75 million are invested in the Czech Republic and, at the same time, at least 20 new jobs are created. Investment of financial resources can be replaced in the amount corresponding to the maximum amount of 60% by investing other assets set forth in Section 42n (1) (b) of Act No. 326/1999 Coll., on the Residence of Foreign Nationals in the Czech Republic.
